All proceeds from Restaurant Week go to supporting Urban Kitchen. Urban Kitchen of Yakima is a program that was started in mid 2017, in the wake of a string of violent that crimes that had taken place across Yakima. Shawn Niles, a local pastor and chef, determined to partner with Le Cordon Bleu trained chef, Julie Kirchoff, and local business legend David Allan of Allan Bros. Fruit, to create a 4 month program, training students, aged 10-18, in business and culinary skills. At the completion of the program, the students would be able to run their own pop-up restaurant for three nights. Since its beginning, the program has graduated 3 classes. Classes take place at YPAL, and the pop-ups are held at the Yakima Valley Museum. For more info, visit
